Assists in balancing the body by treating the body as a whole. Reduces inflammation and swelling in the joints. promotes healing by increasing the flow of nutrients to the muscles and carries away excessive fluids and toxins. Releases endorphins which are natural painkillers. Has shown impacts through the muscular, skeletal, digestive, nervous, cardiovascular, integumentary, respiratory, urinary, endocrine, and lymphatic systems.
My mission is to help your horse heal. I want to leave the session with your horse feeling and moving better and hopefully you learn something about your equine friend in the process.
Equine Sports Massage is a form of massage therapy that focuses on equine athletes, allowing them to perform optimally and reduce the chance of injury by maximizing range of motion and decreasing muscular restrictions. Horse athletes are often times asked to perform maneuvers that can cause repetitive stress injuries. Like human athletes, they can benefit from maintenance bodywork as well as recovery treatments.
Therapist, I, can not and will not diagnose or prescribe. Please reach out to your qualified veterinarian for further information to see if Massage Sports Therapy or other therapies listed below are right for your horse!
A 10-step evaluation will cover, watching the horse move at a walk and trot, a look over, full body checks for lumps, bumps, misalignments, tightness and spasms, a symmetry review, and correct saddle fit. The evaluation is recommended for the first time massage client and approximately every three months to re-evaluate.
Thermal Imaging is included for the first evaluation and is recommended every three months. Thermal Imaging is a non-invasive imaging technique used to measure the differences in surface temperature. Thermal imaging includes approximately 20 images showing where more blood flow may be to certain areas helping pinpoint inflammation or infections. These images will come in a link after the session and can be shared with your veterinarian for diagnoses or prescription purposes.

As noted above, equine sports massage has many benefits to your horse and it is not just for pampering. My Sports massage is approximately a one hour full body massage that includes any extra time spent on tough spots like TMJ, Poll, Knots, etc. Following each sports massage, I include a 10 Minute Level 2 Bemer session to help improve blood flow to all the freshly massaged muscles.
In my 30-day guided rehabilitation program, I help rehab some conditions in conjunction with your nutritionist, veterinarian, and farrier. Some of these conditions are EPM, ENMD, Colic, Ulcers, PSSM, Laminitis/ Founder, Sway back, and Navicular. The program includes 2 full evaluations including thermal imaging before and after the program as well as 7 full body sports massages and guidance for limited work to rebuild muscle strength slowly.

Ice Horse cold therapy includes suspensory, stifle, hock and back wrap. A 30 minute session can help reduce the pain for your horse, while reducing blood flow and fluid accumulation to the area. This will help reduce inflammation and make the healing process much more quickly. In a recent study about equine laminitis, Ice Horse found that their products using Cold Capsule ice pack technology that surround and cool inflamed tissues was more than 3 times more effective than gel packs or cold hosing. This makes ice horse cold therapy long enough and cold enough to actually make a real difference.

A powerful technique developed by D. Gary Young, founder of Young Living Essential Oils. ERT can provide many benefits beyond the physical, including the release of buried traumas and behavioral patterning that affect training and rideability and ultimately the horse’s wellbeing. Essential oils not only work to facilitate balance and detox within the cells and organs, but also have the unique ability to influence the emotional brain where memories are stored.
