Out for hip surgery until August 1st!
My name is Jennifer (Jenn) Weeter. I joined the Army in 2012 and my job was Intelligence Analysis. During my time in service, I performed over 1,500 military funerals for active duty service members and veterans. I was honorably discharged from the military in 2018. By December 2018, the Veteran Affairs Office found me to be 100% permanent and totally disabled. When I got out of the military I spent most of my time at the barn caring for my Morgan Arabian horse named Bear. I also got involved with a service dog training program for veterans called Wags 4 Warriors which closed their doors in 2020. I have been involved with horses in some form my whole life. My mom always joked that I would grow out of it but, here I am. I owned my horse Bear for almost 10 years and we did everything together. Bear moved with me while I was in the military and we went on a ton of amazing adventures. As Bear got older I started to see a need for equine massage and other therapeutic services to help his body and it really did. At the ripe age of 35 we were cleared by a veterinarian to go on the Cleveland beach ride. Unfortunately, Bear passed away a few months later in November 2021. Being at the barn has been my therapy. After Bear passed and I went through two hip surgeries, needing to be back in the barn, we invested in Legato a 8 year old Morgan/ Percheron cross. The more I worked with Legato the more I saw a need for equine massage to help benefit his movement as we helped him build muscle. Legato unfortunately became to much for me over time with my disabilities and he has a new wonderful home. We ended up moving to a new home ourselves and were able to bring horses home. We then purchased two awesome quarter horses Tito (20) and Oobie (21). Oobie unfortunately developed severe navicular with laminitis and could no longer be ridden so we placed him in retirement with a wonderful home and he is doing fantastic. We then were fortunate enough to meet Jaxx (15) an Arabian quarter horse cross. Jaxx and Tito do great together and love each others company. Being a disabled veteran made me retired at a very early age. I had tons of time to form a hobby and so I decided I want to help horses feel better but also help myself. I went through massage certification school and in May of 2023 I started Veteran to Horse Kneads therapies. Since, I have developed a passion for helping horses heal through massage therapy. As of December 2024, I have completed over 300 massages on horses and cows with more on the schedule. I look forward to working everyday. I love my clients like my own family and hope to continue my passion of horses for many years to come. The name Veteran to Horse Kneads Therapies name really is fitting! Pictures of my adventures with Tito and Jaxx are shown below as well as my certifications are pictured below.
